Notes | April 1, 1967 - March 31, 1970. This report mentions a "new approach to fishing crab" by using small hand winches attached to the Alsea Bridge rail. "Unfortunately, a high percentage of sublegal or female crabs dropped from this height were killed from the drop (86%). Consequently, the crab regulations were altered and now require that crabs be returned to the water in a manner that does not result in injury." |
