NotesInteresting study of steelhead trout movements in the Alsea River in 1957. Smaller fish often moved upstream, rather than downstream. Fish that migrated to the ocean were larger than fish that stayed in the stream. Water temperature correlated with fish movements: as the stream warmed, more fish moved downstream. Wild fish moved downstream most rapidly at night. Not surprisingly, wild fish migrated more as the water flow lowered. Major professor was Carl E. Bond.
