NotesThesis (M.S.) “Although the Toledo Formation at Waldport, Oregon has been recognized as a stratigraphic unit for almost thirty years, no detailed description of its microfauna has heretofore been presented. This report describes the Foraminifera contained in the beds and attempts to clarity the stratigraphy or the upper part of the Toledo formation at Waldport, Oregon.” (p.1) Formation names have changed since this thesis was written: the Burpee Formation is now called the Flournoy Formatiion, and the Toledo Formation is now known as the Alsea Formation. Foraminiferan names may also have changed. Nevertheless, this work does consider the environmental conditions under which the Toledo Formation (now Alsea) was laid down. Nice retouched micro-photographs of the foraminifera described here. Maps, charts, including a geologic map of the area, annotated species list. Major professor was David A. Bostwick.
