NotesThe Game Commission stocked equal numbers of hatchery rainbow trout and hatchery cutthroat trout "in identical locations on the main Alsea River between the confluence of the North and South Forks and Five Rivers, a point approximately 10 miles above the head of tidewater." (p.191) "The return of hatchery rainbow trout to the angler on the Alsea River, a coast stream, was shown to have exceeded that of hatchery cutthroat by 11.7 per cent where the two species were stocked in equal numbers."
