Notes | Notes a strike by “[t]he salmon fishermen on Alsea bay, Oregon,” which started on July 16 against the two Waldport canneries. “Their grievance is that the Barnes and Elmore canneries refuse to pay themn more than 3 cents a pound for Chinooks. . . For a few days no nets were set, but recently the fishermen have been fishing and shipping their catches fresh to Portland.” |
