Notes | The Oregon Dept. of Fish and Wildlife was interested in acclimatizing techniques to see if they could increase homing of spawning fish and minimize straying. In this study eggs from the Alsea Basin were hatched in the Siuslaw River and allowed to imprint on the Siuslaw for varying amounts of time. Acclimatization did not seem to improve homing: about 20% of all test groups strayed back to the Alsea River. |
