| Notes | 300 cases of Japanese oyster seed were imported into Alsea Bay in March-April, 1948. "There are 400 acres available here which have been leased by the newly formed Alsea Oyster Company, (a partnership arrangement between the Bay City Oyster Company of Tillamook and the Sherwood Oyster Company of Willapa). Although this land is expected to be poorer than that in the Yaquina, there are still perhaps 100 to 150 acres of potential growing land present."
