Notes | Detailed study of steelhead trout in the Nehalem and Alsea Rivers. Interesting comparisons. "Results from this study highlight the importance of including an estuarine survival component to survival models for increased spatial resolution regarding salmonid survival. Investigating smolt survival in the estuary using acoustic telemetry enabled us to pinpoint an area where approximately 50% of the mortality occurred that has previously been included in survival models as ocean mortality."
